For full participation in our Northern California Region, please join our nationwide parent organization, The Jane Austen Society of North America (JASNA). JASNA members receive subscriptions to the national newsletter, JASNA News, as well as to the Society’s well-respected, annual scholarly journal, Persuasions. National membership also entitles you to register for the Annual General Meeting (AGM), a delightful, three-day celebration of Jane’s writings, surroundings, life and times, hosted in a different city every year. In 2022, the AGM will be in  Victoria, BC. For more information on the national organization, please visit JASNA.

In 2018, JASNA began sharing a portion of its member dues with the regions. In return, the regions are asked to cease charging regional dues, as this led to confusion and great disappointment when people tried to register for the AGM. The regions are permitted to accept donations, which will help us continue our events. Most of our meetings are free and open to the public — the December gala is an exception, when we have food service and relax in Regency gentility.
