Get Involved
“It is such a happiness when good people get together—and they always do.” —Miss Bates
There are several ways to get involved with JASNA NorCal.
Become a Member
To fully participate in our Northern California Region, please join our nationwide parent organization, The Jane Austen Society of North America (JASNA). National JASNA members receive subscriptions to the national newsletter, “JASNA News,” as well as to the Society’s well-respected, annual scholarly journal, Persuasions. National membership also entitles you to register for the Annual General Meeting (AGM), a delightful, three-day celebration of Jane’s writings, surroundings, life and times, hosted in a different city every year.
Calling All Students
JASNA is celebrating Jane Austen’s 250th birthday with special events and activities. For the remainder of 2025, free one-year JASNA Student Memberships are available to the next generation of Austen fans and scholars. Don’t miss a unique opportunity to join our community.

Volunteer
We hope you enjoy our programs about Jane Austen, her world, and her works as much as we enjoy presenting them! Your participation makes our events special, and now we’re inviting you to take an even more active role.
Volunteering is a wonderful way to help shape the speakers, events, and activities JASNA NorCal offers over the coming years. Working alongside fellow members and engaging with speakers is both fun and rewarding. Whether you can commit to an ongoing role or simply help with a single event, your contribution makes a real difference.
For details about specific tasks and responsibilities, please contact our regional coordinators, Amie Burkholder and Rakhi Rao at rc@jasnanorcal.org.
